Helping Animals in Underserved Communities Around the World

To create a world in which all beings are respected and honored, SBT Animals initiated a campaign to honor “Humane Heroes.” A Humane Hero is defined as someone who has done, or is doing, exceptional work to rescue and care for animals of any species. In May 2019, SBT Animals selected Zoe Katsulos, the founder of Humanitourism and HIPAW as a Humane Hero. Standing Up

Today I did something that is sometimes difficult. I was sitting at a café with my dogs next to two women who engaged with my dogs. They were petting them and seemed to really enjoy dogs. We interacted a little bit and then they began a conversation in which one of them said that she wanted to get a Mini Aussie and she had a breeder that she had applied with to get one.

Nearly A Dozen Dogs Rescued from Nepal

At Hank's Pet Food Market in Loveland, Colorado, Fozzie, a one-year-old dog from Nepal, kisses Zoe Katsulos, the founder of HIPAW and Humanitourism. Fozzie, who is paralyzed from the waist down, is one of 11 dogs who were rescued and brought to the U.S. from Nepal for a better life. Paralyzed back legs didn’t slow down Fozzie, as she scooted around, lapping up attention and love, while sharing her excitement.
