Rescues for Adoption

Last Chance for A Better Life

Animal rescue is a major part of HIPAW’s work. During our Humanitourism trips, we often encounter animals that are injured, sick or in otherwise critical circumstances who would not survive without our help. Many of these animals are treated and some become rescues for adoption after their recovery.

All of our rescues have special needs or are endangered street animals. Occasionally, some have spent time at small safe houses or shelters. When we are on a project during a Humanitourism trip, there is often an urgent need to find homes in order to rescue them. In these cases, we secure confirmed adoption families before transporting them. For most of our rescues, it’s their last chance and hope for a better life.

Additional Adoption Information

Because most of our available adoptions are located outside the U.S., potential adopters need to be able to make a connection intuitively and commit to the adoption process before we transport any animals. The first step is to review the animal’s information and make sure you can meet the pet’s needs. We ask all of our adopters and fosters to complete an adoption application. Once approved, adopters are asked to sign an adoption contract and submit an adoption fee before transportation is arranged for your pet to fly to the U.S.

Rescue animals who are seeking new homes are posted and updated on our social media pages during our Humanitourism trips. We also partner with Adopt-a-Pet.com where you can find many HIPAW rescues available for adoption. For questions and more information on how to adopt a rescue animal, contact us.
