Feta’s Story

Feta is our second Greek dog, a female Beagle/Dachshund Mix who lived in a shelter nearly all her life. At the age of three, she was found on the street with a metal rod sticking out of her leg. We think she was previously hit by a car and had a poorly placed pin in her broken leg and was abandoned in the streets.

To improve her mobility, Feta was taken to a veterinarian to remove the pin and reset her injured leg. However, because she was on the street with a broken leg with a bad pin for such a long time, her leg never healed properly and she walked with a limp.

A Happy Ending For An Injured, Homeless Dog

When we arrived in Greece on a Humanitourism tour, we met Feta at the animal shelter and saw that she was very sociable. She loved affection and was great with people and other dogs. In spite of her injured leg, Feta was a healthy dog and ready to be adopted. Through the efforts of HIPAW and your support, we were able to find her a forever home with a family in the U.S. Feta is now happily learning English and given the love and attention she deserves.
